It’s an event you can today (November 26, 2010) will attend the webcast of the coral spawning in New Caledonia eta a roundtable duplex between scientists from New Caledonia and those of the National Museum of Natural History.

The coral spawning in New Caledonia is a unique and little known phenomenon: the majority of species of corals do not occur because a few days a year only under certain conditions of water temperature, tidal coefficient and phase of the moon… The Friday, November 26, 2010, images will be sent from New Caledonia for the latest observations of this phenomenon in scuba diving. This will be the starting point for exchanges between Paris and Noumea. The project will help consolidate the knowledge on the spawning of coral species most threatened in marine areas protected, to highlight the coral reefs Caledonia. It comes within the context of protection and recovery of this ecosystem, since its listing in 2008 on the World Heritage List of UNESCO. This event attracted very definitely educational projects in conjunction with the Association of Teachers of Science Life and Earth New Caledonia, Symbiosis.

The International Year of Biodiversity is to be fenced, and on this occasion the National Museum of Natural History, WWF, CRISP, SPC and the IRD team up on a project of public awareness the biodiversity of coral reefs of New Caledonie.La richness and fragility of these species will be presented from the Auditorium of the Grand Gallery of Evolution of the Museum, Paris, and the General Secretariat of the Pacific Community in Noumea , at 10am this morning. Taiwan launches competition for young travelers: Create the circuit of your dreams and earn your trip to Taiwan!.

For the 3rd consecutive year, the campaign "Youth Trekkers Wanted" invites travelers from around the world, ages 18 to 30 years to express their creativity and create the circuit of their dreams on the island of Taiwan.
